These terms describe the use of the website saffronfieldhaven.com and the three services it presents: the Kitchen Herb Bed Consultation (¥6,800), the Saffron Corm Planting & First Harvest Session (¥12,500) and the Home Spice Craft Workshop (¥15,800). They sit beside our Terms & Conditions, which holds the payment, cancellation and liability rules, our Privacy Policy and the Commercial Transactions Notice.
By using the website or asking us to book a service you agree to these terms. Nothing here reduces a right you have as a consumer under Japanese law, including the Consumer Contract Act.
1. Using the website
- 1.1 Reading and printingYou may read every page and print the recipe cards for your own household. Please do not copy our calendars, sketches or texts onto another website or into something you sell.
- 1.2 Contacting us honestlyUse the contact form and the email address for questions about our services, with your own details. Please do not send advertising, automated requests or anything meant to disturb the site.
- 1.3 Garden and kitchen guidanceThe pages describe common practice for herbs, saffron crocus and seasonings. They are general guidance, not a promise about your particular plot, and not a substitute for the instructions that come with tools or ingredients you buy.
- 1.4 LinksPages link only to other pages of this site and to email and phone contacts. If we add an outside link, the linked site is run by someone else and its own terms apply.
2. Enquiries and bookings
Please read this section with clauses 7 to 9 of the Terms & Conditions.
- 2.1 How a booking startsA message through the form or by email is only an enquiry. A booking exists once we have confirmed the service, date, place and price to you in writing and you have agreed.
- 2.2 No accountsWe do not offer user accounts or an online shop. Booking details are kept in our email correspondence, as described in the Privacy Policy.
- 2.3 Who can bookBookings are made by adults aged 18 or over. Younger guests may join a workshop if a parent or guardian stays with them.
- 2.4 GroupsA workshop seats six guests at most. If more people want to come, we may offer a second date instead of enlarging the table.
3. What each service includes
-
Kitchen Herb Bed Consultation
A 90-minute session in person or online. It results in a hand-drawn planting sketch, a 12-month care calendar for your region, a soil and container shopping list and one follow-up message within 30 days.
-
Saffron Corm Planting & First Harvest Session
A 2.5-hour session offered from late August to September, because that is when corms can be planted. It includes 15 flowering-size corms, the picking guide, drying and storage notes, and an online check-in while the flowers are open.
-
Home Spice Craft Workshop
A three-hour workshop for up to six guests at our Miyazaki studio or in your kitchen. Ingredients and tools are provided and you take home four labelled jars, printed recipe cards and the seasonal blending guide.
-
What is not included
- Plants, soil or pots beyond the items listed for the session you booked.
- Ongoing maintenance of your garden or balcony.
- Any advice about medicine, nutrition or health, which we do not give.
4. Where and when
- 4.1 Home visitsWe visit homes in Miyazaki City without a travel charge. Farther away, a visit is possible by arrangement, and any travel cost is written into the confirmation before you agree.
- 4.2 Online sessionsOnline sessions work anywhere in Japan with a stable connection and a device with a camera, at the same price as a visit.
- 4.3 SeasonSaffron planting runs only from late August to September. Outside that window we can answer questions or reserve a place for the next season.
- 4.4 WeatherOutdoor sessions may move to another day if rain, wind or a typhoon warning makes them unsafe. You are not charged for a date we move.
- 4.5 Your spacePlanting sessions need access to ground, a balcony or suitable containers. A workshop in your own kitchen needs a clear table and a working stove.
- 4.6 Corms and ingredientsCorms and ingredients are supplied only inside Japan, in line with the rules on bringing plants across borders.
5. Food, plants and safety
- 5.1 AllergiesWorkshop blends commonly include sesame, nori and chilli. Tell us about any allergy before you book so we can adapt blends or keep tools separate. We cannot guarantee a kitchen free of traces.
- 5.2 No health claimsHerbs, saffron and spices are presented as cooking ingredients only. We do not say that any plant prevents or treats a condition.
- 5.3 What you makeJars filled at a workshop are for your own household and are not prepared food for sale. If you plan to sell anything you make, food-labelling and hygiene rules apply to you.
- 5.4 Tools and heatPlease follow instructions around hot pans, ovens and grinding tools, and keep small children away from them.
6. Ownership of materials
- 6.1 Our materialsTexts, drawings, calendars, planting sketches and recipe cards belong to Saffron Field Haven or are used with permission.
- 6.2 Your photos and notesPhotos or notes about your garden remain yours. We use them to prepare your plan and do not publish them without separate written permission.
- 6.3 Licence to youYou may use the materials delivered with a service in your own home, and may share a recipe card with a friend.
- 6.4 Photographs on this siteThe photographs on this site are illustrations of plants, flowers and kitchen scenes. They are not pictures of customers or of the studio unless a caption says so.
7. Changes and questions
We may change these terms, the content of a service or its price. A change never alters a booking that was confirmed in writing beforehand. The date at the top of the page shows the latest version.
If anything here is unclear, ask through the contact page or at info@saffronfieldhaven.com and we will explain it in plain words.
